Distinguishing Features

For years, the school of insurance has stick to the motto “Face the market, face the society and face the world”. Aiming at cultivating professionals through teaching theories and providing the opportunity for practice, the school has been promoting students’ comprehensive qualities. Our school has formed a “SWUFE Model” called by CIRC (China Insurance Regulatory Commission). This model rooted in a finance university has the advantage of interaction between disciplines of insurance and social security and is featured with running the school globally and providing students with various internships.

Our internship system can date back to 1991, receiving compliments from students as well as the insurance industry and society. To foster talents who can adapt to global challenges, we have developed “2+2” program for undergraduates of actuarial science with Heriot-Watt University; “3+1+1” program for undergraduates of insurance finance and accounting with the University of Glasgow, both of which are highly appraised. These programs further explain what “SWUFE Model” is.
